Upside-Down Wisdom #7: Creativity
“Creativity is a gift that some people are born with.”
“Creativity is a gift that some people are born with.”
You’ve probably heard that one.
Maybe you’ve even said it about yourself:
“I’m just not the creative type.”
It sounds humble. Honest, even.
But here’s the thing:
That’s upside-down.
Creativity isn’t some rare talent, handed out at birth to the lucky few.
It’s not reserved for artists, poets, musicians, or inventors.
Creativity is built-in.
It comes standard—part of the package deal of being human.
You can’t not be creative.
You’re creating right now:
The story you’re telling about your day.
The way you’re interpreting my words.
The meaning you’re giving this moment.
The way you imagine your future or explain your past.
In fact, you’re creating your entire experience of life—right now—in this very moment.
Every feeling, every interpretation, every perception: all flowing from the creative power of mind at work.
We don’t get to choose whether we create.
Only how conscious we are of the fact that we’re doing it.
So here’s today’s Upside-Down Wisdom:
Creativity isn’t a gift you’re born with. It’s who you are.
This is Upside-Down Wisdom—a series where we flip the script on the conventional "wisdom" we've been taught.
