“You shouldn’t have low moods.”
It sounds sensible.
Even responsible.
Like good mental hygiene: keep your vibe high, your thoughts positive, your outlook bright.
So you push away sadness.
Ignore heaviness.
Hide irritation behind a smile.
Because low moods are problems.
Warnings.
Signs you’re off track.
But here’s the thing:
That’s upside-down.
Because moods aren’t moral grades.
They’re not warnings.
They’re not proof that something’s wrong with you.
Moods are weather.
They shift.
They pass.
They roll in and out like clouds across the same wide sky.
When you stop judging them, they lose their bite.
A low mood doesn’t need fixing.
It needs space to move through.
And just like the sky, you’re never damaged by what drifts across.
Here’s today’s Upside-Down Wisdom:
Your moods don’t need managing. They need room to move.
